Dear Mr. Bejar:I wanted to thank you so much for making such amazing music . I teach mathematics as an adjunct in a few colleges in Honolulu. I have been in US since 1991, and I lived in Vancouver for a few years before that. I am learning so much about literature, art, and history from your music. I can use an example how I learned about Kara Walker. I mean the list goes on. I am taking my time with each one of your albums. I honestly have learned so much from you. I just wish I would have started sooner. I do admit I am not a well read man, but I go through a learning journey with each one of your songs.I read your bio just a few minutes ago, and I tremendously enjoy your statement:”… my practice employs appropriation and recontextualisation towards familiar
objects, sites, and situations as a strategy to provoke historical amnesia and subvert ingrained
systems of belief. “I am Turkish and Persian. I just wanted to give you a background to my name. Although it may be embarrassing that I am not very well read, I don’t have that biased background to compare your music or compare it to anyone else’s work. I just hear it for the first time as is…I love how I have to call friends (well real English professors) to understand the background to each and every one of your songs.

Take care sir. I hope this e-mail finds you smiling wherever you are…You inspire me.
I wanted to share one of my favorite parts of e.e. cumming poems:
“I’d rather learn from one bird how to sing than to teach ten thousand stars how not to dance.”
Sir…If you ever have the desire to play a show in Honolulu’s beautiful Hawaii Theater please let me know as I can assure you I have the connection to make it happen.
My warmest regards,
xxxx
